• Dr Wing’s career included over twenty years as a commissioned officer in the Australian Army, initially as a paratrooper, and later in intelligence, special forces, peace-keeping and counter-terrorist operations.

• His operational background includes South-East Asia, East Timor, Afghanistan and Iraq – for which he was awarded the United States Bronze Star Medal.

• He is highly-experienced in private enterprise and the delivery of strategic intelligence and security solutions.

• He holds three degrees in political science – including his doctorate in national security – and has held research and professorial appointments at three major Australian universities.

• He is a Board-Certified Protection Professional and an elected Life Fellow of the Australian Institute of Professional Intelligence Officers, having served as its National President for seven years.

• He is the author of over seventy papers, monographs and book chapters on national security, counter-terrorism and intelligence.
